Comfort Foods: A Series

Bringing an entirely new idea to comfort foods

What do you think of when you think of comfort foods?  Do you think of your mom, or a grandparent or an aunt?  Does it bring back fond memories of that person or of a memory when you were a child?  All of us have different ideas of what comfort foods are.  Some think of pot roasts, pasta dishes like lasagna, or even chicken noodle soup.  They bring feelings of joy, warmth, and a coziness.  These foods are timeless and are talked about and passed down from generation to generation.  Comfort foods usually have a story that your mom or grandparent tells when making their dish. These dishes are different from culture to culture and from country to country. Everyone has his or her own idea of what makes something a comfort food.  However, everyone has the exact same opinion – these foods make your day or night. You really just want to put on some comfy clothes, sit on the couch, watch a movie, while enjoying a bowl of your favorite comfort food. No matter where you are, they bring the comforts of home to you while also enjoying every moment and every bite. And of course, they make the BEST leftovers, and that is because you usually are still craving them the next day or so! My personal opinion is that it is always good to know how to cook at least one comfort food.  You never know when you might need it! Not to mention, it is something to pass down to your children and add to your family’s story. I can’t wait to share all of my favorite comfort food recipes with you! Get cozy cause we are starting my comfort food blog series!
