Banana Cabana

Now I don’t know about y’all, but Banana Cabana’s are by far my my favorite daiquiri. My love for these drinks began when my husband and I were on our honeymoon in St. John. I have always been a fan of bananas, so when I saw this drink on the menu, I knew I had to try it. They were amazing! The bartender used REAL bananas instead of the flavored banana mixers which usually taste artificial. Let’s just say I had quite of few of those drinks on our trip! When we returned home, I knew I had to recreate this drink because it was too good to not have during the summer! Like the bartender in the virgin islands, I use real bananas to have that delicious natural flavor.  I had finally perfected it and decided to have the ultimate taste tester: a bartender. One of my friends used to be a bartender so one weekend I made these for here when she was visiting our lake house. After her first sip, her face said it all! She told me these were the best she had ever had. I was quite flattered since SHE was the bartender!

 Banana Cabana

2 to 3 yellow bananas sliced, frozen

1 can cream of coconut (top part)

2 oz. Dark Rum

1 oz. Light Rum

1 oz. Crème de Banana Liquor

¼ cup pineapple juice

Crushed Ice

Heavy Whipping Cream

Combine first seven ingredients in a blender.  Blend until well combined and smooth.  If mixture is too thick, then add heavy cream until desired consistency.  If you want the daiquiri to be stronger, then add more alcohol to your tasting.

Tip: To make sure this daiquiri is frozen and creamy, freeze the bananas first. Make sure to peel and slice the bananas before freezing them. It will make prep so much easier.  If you freeze the bananas with the peel on, it tends to be a little more difficult to get the banana out.
